Workspace and Roles
Use shared layouts and segments and understand owner and member roles.
Work together
A workspace is your shared Track Engine area for saved layouts, segments, drivers, vehicles and tracks. Plus and Pro let other people work there too. Each person signs in with their own account.
- Open “My Account” and read the plan shown.
- Check whether your role is “Owner” or “Team member”.
- To invite someone, open “Manage team members” as the owner.
After accepting an invitation, the person appears in the member list. See Manage team members for the steps.
What you share
People in the same workspace can use saved layouts, segments and Racing database entries, such as drivers, vehicles and tracks.
Room plans are not part of this shared content. They are currently saved in each person's browser. See First room.
Who can do what?
The owner is the account holder. They manage the subscription, invitations and team members. A team member can use the shared content. The features and usage limits of the workspace owner's plan apply to them. They do not manage the owner's subscription.
User limits include the owner:
- Free and Basic: 1 user, with no additional team members.
- Plus: up to 2 users in total.
- Pro: up to 10 users in total.
For example, a Plus owner can invite one other person. That person does not need a separate paid subscription to use an assigned place.
Take turns editing a layout
While one person edits a saved layout or segment, others can view it but cannot edit it. This prevents you from overwriting each other's work.
- Before editing, see whether someone is already working on the plan.
- Save your changes.
- For a layout, select “Finish editing” to release it. Also release an edited segment when you are done.
See Save and open layouts and Reusable segments.
If a plan is still in use
First ask the person shown to save their work and finish editing. The owner can also release it. Agree on this first so that unsaved changes are not overlooked.
The owner handles subscription actions: Manage your plan and subscription.
